| 6:20 a.m. |
Wake up. Sort of. Press snooze. |
|
| 6:35 a.m. |
Really wake up. |
|
6:50 a.m. |
Brush teeth. Need to think of something to give the minions to keep them occupied. Well, at least I have minions.
|
|
8:15 a.m. |
Get to work and check email.
|
|
8:45 a.m. |
Breakfast time. The cafeteria has run out of marmalade.
|
|
9:04 a.m. |
Look into restaurant options for a group dinner with coworkers.
|
|
9:12 a.m. |
Start working.
|
|
9:15 a.m. |
Provide direction to minions.
|

12:45 p.m. |
Lunch.
|
|
1:15 p.m. |
Make some slides on PowerPoint. I'm a PowerPoint ace.
|
|
2 p.m. |
The facilities people have come to install my new whiteboard. Assess ideal location to store dry-erase markers.
|
|
2:10 p.m. |
Get back to work.
|
|
3 p.m. |
Meeting. I think I go to too many meetings.
|
|
4 p.m. |
Lunch wasn't filling enough. Order a brownie sundae from the restaurant downstairs.
|
|
4:55 p.m. |
Receive semi-threatening email from superior. Work won't be over by 6:30 today. That's for sure.
|
|
8:15 p.m. |
After an epic session of productivity, head out the door. Good thing I had that brownie sundae - otherwise, I'd be starving. |
| 7 a.m. |
Cell phone alarm goes off. have 9:30 meeting, but have slept until 8 and made it with time to spare. Consider breaking that record today. |
| 7:45 am |
Clothing conundrum. Attempt to get dressed. Post-work drinks hangover from last night leads me to consider sweatpants. Career aspirations lead me to put on a skirt. |
| 8:15 a.m. |
Subway fun. The 6 train is packed and two go by before I get on. Crammed in like a sardine in a can, and sweating my make-up off, I'm still thankful i don't have to drive with gas prices the way they are. Not that i know what they are (high?). Thank you, unlimited monthly metro card. |
| 9 a.m. |
Review schedule. Three conference calls, three meetings and a photo shoot. I feel tired already. |
| 9:25 a.m. |
New employee is starting and the admin is nowhere to be found. What do I know about setting up computers and ID badges? |
| 9:30 a.m. |
Weekly team meeting. Day-dream about breakfast. |
| 10 - 10:30 a.m. |
Trek cross-town to company headquarters for photo shoot and meeting. What make-up is left melts off during walk. New York in June is no joke. |
| noon |
Conference call with sales folks. Doodle on my note pad and write down buzz words like 'engagement.' |
| 1 p.m. |
Multitask during crosstown trek back to office: listen to iPod, Gtalk on the BlackBerry and text message with roommate. |
| 1:15 p.m. |
Lunch. Wish for the 5 millionth time that i lived in a less expensive city (thank you midtown Manhattan!) and long for the days of chicken salad sandwiches at Collis. |
| 2-3 p.m. |
Gtalk and look for post-work drinks bar on Citysearch with the PowerPoint presentation I'm supposed to be working on on my screen. Alt-tab is my friend. |
| 3:30 p.m. |
Tell digital media jokes with my coworkers: 'You're as reliable as the twitter api'. 'Well at least I didn't buy youtube without any idea of how to monetize it!' |
| 3:31 - 4 p.m. |
Look for mobile web usage stats for presentation. Get annoyed when I can't find the exact amount advertisers are spending on the mobile web, just that 'there's a lot of money being spent.' |
| 4:15 p.m. |
My boss tells me he has a massive headache. When I offer him Advil he tells me that he needs to go drink instead. |
| 4:30 p.m. |
Conference call. Despite an abundance of power phrases like '30,000 feet' and 'resource management', the project still doesn't have 'milestones' (power phrase!). |
| 5 p.m. |
Wish I had job that ended at 5 like normal people. Briefly consider career change, but decide it's too much effort to update my resume. |
| 5:15 - 6 p.m. |
Catch up on blog roll, Google news, Fark and Wikipedia. I work in digital media - this counts as research, right? |
| 6 - 6:30 p.m. |
Dawdle and delay until boss leaves. |
