What do I do now that there aren't 350 computers around campus with Blitzmail?
Well you have several options....
Weblitz is the Basement's web-based Blitz program. It seems sufficient for typical use.
NetBlitz allows you to use the same keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+D, Ctrl+R, Ctrl+M) that enable you to quickly check your blitz. Although it was once ahead of WebBlitz in features, WebBlitz has caught up recently.
Of course, you can always use good ole Blitzmail to handle your messages. If you need to download the blitzmail program, go here for Windows, here for Macs.
If you've got a new computer and don't remember how to install Blitz, go here for Computing Services's instructions on how to install blitzmail. |
Configuring your alum account to use a third-party application like Outlook or Mozilla's Thunderbird takes a little more work. You can find a good tutorial here for configuring blitzmail to use Outlook. |
You can always set your Blitzmail account to forward all messages it receives to another address, like your companies address (probably not) or a free account, like Google's GMail. Gmail can hold over 2GB of messages, currently dwarfing any other free service.
Just click on Blitzmail>Preferences>Auto Actions and type in the address where you'd like to forward your mail. You can do this in WebBlitz as well, but NetBlitz does not currently have the same feature. |
