Alumni Council Representative
The Class of 2005 has just elected our next Alumni Council Representative. Antonio Valla will serve as the class's rep beginning the summer of 2008 and continuing until the summer of 2011. Thanks to all who voted!
Job Description - Alumni Council Class Representative
It is the job of the Alumni Council Class Representative to be a liaison between his/her class and the College/Alumni Office. As a member of the Council, the representative is expected to attend two meetings a year in Hanover (usually during the weekend of Green Key and the first weekend of December). It is also their duty to report back to their constituents (our class) bi-annually covering the topics discussed at the meetings, and to take feedback from classmates to the meetings. In doing so there can be a two way dialogue between our class and the College with the Councilor serving as a funnel for communication.
On the Alumni Council, the representative will serve under two Council committees (ie. young alumni, athletics, nominating committee, etc.), giving his/her insight on various topics and passing on concerns/comments from their constituency. By joining the Council, the Rep will become an ex-officio member of the Class of 2005 Executive Committee and will need to be able to join several conference calls over the course of the year. Whenever possible the Councilor should attend Class Events to speak on behalf of the Council or to gather comments/concerns from the class.
