Forward Alumni Email to another Email account
If you already have an email account with an Internet
Service Provider, and if you don't want to check more
than one email account, you will probably want to set up your
Vox Alumni Network account to forward your mail to your "home"
email address. If you ever change email addresses, you can
change your forwarding address so that email sent to your
Dartmouth Alumni account will always reach you, no
matter how many times you need to change email addresses.
Requirements: the Email Forwarding option can be used by
any Dartmouth Alum with a working email account.
Set up Forwarding via the World Wide Web
You can establish your email forwarding address by filling
out the form found at "Activate/Update
Your Account". You'll be asked to provide your
full name and Alumni Email password (using the secure server
feature) and then enter the email address to which messages
addressed to: <Your.name.class@alum.dartmouth.org>
will be forwarded. The new email forwarding address is effective
immediately.
Set up Forwarding via Email
You can request changes to your personal information by
email, which will be processed within three business days
and confirmed by return email. Send an email message to
<support@helpdesk.dartmouth.org>
with the following information:
- Your name and class
- For example:
- "Jane A. Doe '81", or
- "Jane A. Doe, Tuck '89"
- A request to change your forwarding address, including
what you'd like it changed to.
Because email is "unsecure" and to protect the
security of your account, we require the following pieces
of additional information for verification:
- The name of your secondary school
- Your major
- Your Dartmouth ID number or the last four digits of
your Social Security number
- Your date of birth
- A phone number where you can be reached if necessary
Changing to Full Access
You can change your type of service (from Email Forwarding
service to Full Access service, or vice versa) online by
pointing your Web browser at "Activate/Update
Your Account" or by sending a message to <support@helpdesk.dartmouth.org>.
Changes in type of service that are made online are effective
immediately; changes that are sent by email will be processed
within three business days. Changing the type of service
may mean you need to reinstall and/or reconfigure the email
software on your computer.
You will be asked to provide your full name and Vox Alumni
Network password (using the secure server feature) and then
enter your active email address. The new email forwarding
address is effective immediately. This is the way to go
if you wish to consolidate your messages into one account.
