There’s nothing like a group hike, tennis tournament, canoe trip, or other activity to bring your classmates together. And they’ll work up an appetite for dinner later at the class tent! Below are many great sports options for your class.
Athletic Facilities on Campus
Indoor: The new indoor College athletic facilities are open for use by alumni and families during reunions.
Fields: Use of any outdoor field must first be cleared through Advancement Events.
Canoe Rental from Ledyard Canoe Club
Ledyard Canoe Club opens at the end of May. Rental fee:$10/hour for one canoe or two kayaks. Contact: www.dartmouth.edu/~lcc or (603) 643-6709. Titcomb Cabin reservations: If you’d like to reserve Titcomb Cabin (Ledyard’s 10-person cabin on Gilman Island, a mile downriver from the club), please call (603) 643-6709.
Dartmouth Outing Club Activities for Reunion Classes
Dartmouth Out o’ Doors is an activities program that the Dartmouth Outing Club offers especially for reunion classes each year. There’s something for everyone! To get an idea, see a sample of the 2012 DOC Activities offerings:
Golf at Hanover Country Club
Reservations: Tee times can be scheduled by contacting Alex Kirk at the Hanover Country Club (603-646-2000). Large groups should make reservations four to six weeks in advance. Shot-gun starts are available to accommodate larger groups wishing to tee off at the same time. In order to schedule an event, please contact Alex with the size of your group along with the desired tee time. The course is open from 7 am till dusk.
Cost: The alumni discount is $60 for 18 holes, including a cart. The entire course can be rented out for $4,000. Payment must be received at least two weeks in advance. Credit cards and checks are accepted. Payment for large groups can be processed on an individual basis or paid for on one account.
Cancellation Policy: The Hanover Country Club must be given two weeks notice if you plan to cancel your tee time. Any cancellations made after this time are subject to the full golf fee.

Outdoor tennis courts can be reserved by contacting Advancement Events. Please specify which courts, how many, the date, and the time. Keep in mind that the number of courts available at any given time is limited, so you may need to be flexible. Cost: There’s no charge for the use of outdoor courts. In case of inclement weather, Boss Tennis Center is available for a fee of $13 per court per hour.
Equipment (basketballs, softballs, etc.) rentals are free. Call (603) 646-2480. Equipment must be picked up by 4:30 pm Friday for weekend activities.
